The Brief: A Memorable, High-Impact Guest Sanctuary

The brief for this historic Virginia Water lodge house was to design and project manage a complete transformation of the guest shower room into an opulent, boutique hotel-style sanctuary. The space needed to balance the structural quirkiness of a heritage property with maximum functional luxury, making a memorable, stylish statement for visiting guests while prioritizing smart storage solutions.

The Design Strategy & Execution

To maximize the room's footprint and deliver an atmospheric, "jewel-box" aesthetic, we designed, procured & meticulously coordinated rich textures, warm metallics, and artisan ironmongery:

The Deep Colour Drench: We executed a bold navy blue colour scheme, pairing plain navy blue tiles on the main walls with striking navy and white accent patterned tiles on the dedicated shower feature wall.

Bespoke Vanity & Ornate Framing: We designed and commissioned a bespoke base vanity cabinet meticulously fitted to house a large, premium white sink. This unit is beautifully crowned by an ornate, gold-curved mirror that softens the room’s clean lines and enhances natural light reflection.

Artisan Procurement & Micro-Details: To maximize the cabinetry's luxury appeal, we sourced a custom storage display cabinet finished with exquisite solid brass bee detail handles. This is paired with premium solid marble tops and matching brushed brass taps and fixtures across both the basin and the shower enclosure.

Streamlined Smart Storage: To eliminate surface clutter for guests, we structurally engineered a custom tiled recessed niche within the shower enclosure. This provides a sleek, seamless shelf to display and use luxury shower washes and self-care products effortlessly.
