The Brief: Sleek, Functional Luxury for Executive Living
The brief for this spacious apartment in Weybridge was to design a highly functional, sophisticated modern bachelor pad that maximizes the property's generous proportions. The client required an elegant environment tailored for day-to-day comfort as well as high-end hosting and entertainment. A critical structural requirement was to seamlessly integrate the property's existing premium wooden oak floors into a fresh, contemporary blue, black, beige, and grey palette.
Room-by-Room Design Execution
1. The High-Impact Entrance Hallway
To deliver a striking statement first impression, the elongated entrance hall was transformed into a masterclass of functional symmetry and ambient mood lighting:
The Welcome Vista: At the end of the hall, we installed a comprehensive storage system featuring an expansive statement mirror, custom shoe cabinetry below, and dedicated coat and bag storage above.
Symmetrical Zoning: We framed the hallway using dual sleek black console tables paired with tailored deep blue benches. To maximize the sense of space and light reflection, custom mirrors were mounted precisely above each bench.
Lighting & Fine Art: The hallway’s length is celebrated with a premium blue abstract runner rug. We positioned directional table lamps to cast perfectly targeted pools of light onto a curated abstract blue art piece, creating a sophisticated gallery atmosphere upon entry.
2. The Contemporary Living Space
The main living room leans into a refined, masculine aesthetic focused on clean lines, luxury textures, and social entertaining:
The Seating & Colour Scheme: We layered deep blue and warm beige accents over low-profile, plush grey sofas. This grounds the room and beautifully contrasts the warmth of the existing oak floors.
Monolithic Accents: We procured a suite of modern black coffee tables and matching side tables to anchor the seating zone, all resting atop a premium ombre blue rug.
The Entertainment Hub: A statement black drinks cabinet was sourced and positioned as an essential entertaining focal point for evening social gatherings.
3. The Flexible Dining Zone
Transitioning from the main living zone, the dedicated dining area balances high-end tactile comfort with spatial versatility:
Entertainment Scalability: We specified a premium black extending dining table, allowing the client to instantly scale the layout from private dining to large-scale dinner party entertainment.
Executive Textures: The table is paired with ultra-sleek beige diamond-hatch leather chairs, adding a sharp, tailored graphic texture to the dining zone.
Curation: The final space was styled using the client’s personal accessories and curated travel artifacts to ensure the minimalist design felt uniquely personal.
