The Brief: Heritage Charm Meets Serene Modern Luxury
The brief for this exceptional project was to transform the master bedroom of a historic Virginia Water lodge house into a tranquil, country chic sanctuary. The design needed to respectfully honour the unique architectural character and heritage bones of the lodge while providing the ultimate in modern comfort, bespoke storage, and a deeply calming atmosphere for our clients to unwind.
The Design Strategy & Execution
To blend timeless country charm with contemporary luxury lifestyle requirements, we designed, procured and project managed a curated & flawless, high-texture palette and tailored joinery scheme:
The Serene Colour Palette: We anchored the room in a calm, soothing sage green colour palette. This botanical-inspired tone establishes an immediate connection to the surrounding Surrey countryside and ultimate relaxation.
Bespoke Furniture & Dressing Suite: To maximize the characterful, often restrictive layout of a historic lodge, we designed and built bespoke sage wardrobes and a matching custom dressing table. This joinery provides seamless, integrated storage while maintaining an elegant, uncluttered footprint.
Layered Luxury Textiles: The bed was dressed in crisp, premium white bed linen to act as a clean, inviting focal point. We layered tactile depth into the scheme using carefully selected textiles for the cushions and window blinds, combining warm beige tones with a sophisticated touch of black accenting for subtle contrast.
Dual-Layer Lighting Script: Lighting was carefully split between grand statement pieces and focused task illumination. We installed two feature ceiling-mounted crystal lighting fixtures to diffuse a beautiful, elegant glow across the space, complemented by sleek, chrome wall-mounted reading lights neatly positioned above the bed for evening practicality.
